You can go ahead and remove me as an admin and consider this my official withdrawal.
No point in being around a community that's not putting in an effort to improve when there is plenty of suggestions being made left and right over the years.
Lots of talk but no action guys , Had a great time.
Started off here with BBG on the trade / l4d2 servers and i've had the most fun you can imagine over the years.
Good luck to you all and thank you for so many years of fun , gaming and trading!

There is many new games to explore i don't think we should be giving up on our community.
Most newer games are hosted through player connections so we don't necessarily need many servers.
As for tf2 servers , I have always said we have an excess amount.
It has been long overdue to cull down the server list to simple , realistic things that people still go on.
Having 2 or 3 servers of the same thing just isn't efficent unless they are all full all the time.
(eg having 2 trade servers , both mostly empty. Could just have 1) etc

With that being said , I have enjoyed gaming with bbg over the last 5 years and i hope to continue for many more.

Suggestion i have made before : Work out the VIP / Donator through game time.
This encourages people to spend time on our servers , and also gives them the chance to have VIP or donator status at no cost , Just game time. (This would ensure we also have a flow of regulars).

EG : I know ozzyfurocity servers let people get donator status through gametime.
You have to login in to their forums (Which we would also have to do , thus encouraging people to visit our website to begin with) Once you are on their forums any time you log on to ANY of their servers your game time will convert to credits. If they equal X amount of hours they get the amount of credits to use towards unlocking donator status and all the perks.

I think its a fantastic idea we could work on and improve to our requirements.

Yeah redoing the server admin list can be fun.

Wish these games would have multiple levels of admins/moderators:

Like one Root Admin (BBT), Senior Admins (Person 1, Person 2, Person 3), Admins (insert 2-5 people), Super Moderators (can temp ban and map change only)
Super Mods would be like Admins in trial, if they abuse power they are demoted to random player.
Senior Admins would have remote access to server TCAdmin but can't override BBT as he has the master account.
Admins can ban, temp ban, map change, kick, change game settings (with permission from higher ups)

If it's just Root Admin and Admins. What if BBT on vacation and 3 Admins can't agree on game settings and they all are equal on the hierarchy?

To be honest , After so many years I'd only take jessica's advice over anyone else (No offence guys <3 ) He has been here longer than i can remember.
Therefore i volunteer him to be like 2nd head admin apart from big , His fall back. Only person i'd go to if big wasnt around
But i agree , We need a system. I just dont think big has the time to do it Smile (Think about it, If someone else had close to the powers that big has , they could update / maintain servers when big isnt around)

I really dont like admins being able to playsounds , No offence to all who use it but it really is annoying. And this is coming from another admin.
I sometimes have to ask admins not to spam it soooo much.... Wouldnt it be nice to not have to bicker between admins?
The fact i even have to point out to a fellow admin that they are spamming is beyond ridiculous.

As for swearing , Im australian , Its in my nature.. BUT i don't swear on the server. I don't let people swear on there either. I give people plenty of warnings if they are just swearing .
If it is directed at a player in an offensive manner im less inclined to give people warnings and be more harsh about the chances i give them. That is the ONLY time i will get really bossy on someone.

At least all the people auditioning for admin without being asked to can join the short list for "lol nope.avi"
Bit rude coming on here and disturbing the post shoving their opinions as to why they should be admin.
An admin is not forced upon , an admin is someone who is chosen for their behaviour.
If you wish to become an admin make sure your behaviour reflects that of maturity because none of you have shown any maturity by coming on here where all the admins are having discussons and side tracking the post. /endrant

I was thinking of getting one of these as my partner has a WoW creative wireless headset that im extremely jealous of.
She gets to walk around the house while listening to music or listening in to the servers... I would have loved to find an affordable wireless headset with mic and that logitech H600 seemed the only one i could justify spending money on.
Glad i saw this post and sorry for reviving old threads , But its good info for me.
Did you end up getting anything else?

While i do agree we need to take care of our Trading server as it is dying , I really dont think adding another server to big's bills would be a great idea.
We don't get enough regular traders as is in there , every time i join its just kids PLAYING , not actually trading.

We have had a great trading server for many years and i think we will continue to do so if we can get players online.
I have suggested to big bang several times (love u big) that we post on our steam group the IP of our server , as with the server change a LOT of people never came back.
I have also suggested to make a PUBLIC steam group , Were people can join freely instead of INVITE ONLY!
I do understand big would probably like to have a private page for admins to communicate with each other , but lets not forget about our community!
Jessica has been the only one with power to post on the steam group who actually HAS posted in order to bring players in .
The last post was a merry xmas from big and previous to that it was jess in june of 2014 with what i assume was , getting people on to the server with a few raffles.

We also have MANY main admins who havent been active in well over a year and have said they are not coming back.( EG : Dharma , Last Online: 201 days ago ,) And before that it was nearly another year he was gone.
I would love to have some posting powers on the steam group even though it is not public (Would really love for anyone to be able to join without invite) , But i do hold raffles and posting it through steam would bring an influx of people to the server on the basis of free goodies.
Another issue i have encountered , Is the amount of trading maps we have on the one server.
I recently redid my windows and didnt notice how many maps we had until i started joining.
It can be a turn off to join every few days and have to download something different weekly. We need to stick to one map so people arent turned off by the fact they need to download new maps either.

So to summarise : Make steam group public > Allow More Admins to be able to post on the steam group > Minimise the amount of maps on the server > Get rid of old admins who are inactive > Dont bother getting more servers until we can fill this one up again.

I do hope some of my suggestions dont fall on deaf ears.
Love and regards to my big bang community!

I prefer the fact that he doesnt take donations , But it is completely up to big and wether he needs help paying for said servers.
I have always been willing to donate as i am an admin , I would expect us to be the first asked to donate before regular players are.

Donations also bring in a whole lot of new complications with plugins being added for said donations , So as i said , Completely up to BBT

I think if we do take donations , That we only use it to re-raffle it as our trading servers are not what they used to be anymore.
This might bring new blood if anything to our servers.
There are a lot of old admins who dont come on anymore, and regular players too.
